About
Wailua Shave Ice is one of my favorite spots to go in downtown Portland. Their shave ice is so delicious and brings a touch of Hawaii to Portland. For this project, I redesigned and coded a website for this local business in Portland.

Noticeable Opportunities for Improvement
1. At the time, their website was white with only a couple pictures. The shave ice is aesthetic and colorful there should be more pictures!
2. Their use of hierarchy: they had a page for each store location, and under each location they had a broken instagram link and information for the shop very small at the bottom of the page.
3. No about us page.
The Home Page
I wanted to design a website that brings all the colors from the Hawaiian culture and the fruit. There is also nothing about the owners on the current website, so I made an “About Us” page with information I found about the owners.
The Menu
I wanted to include photographs of the shave ice because there is so much color, aesthetics, and deliciousness that come with the finished product of shave ice. An illustration would not do it justice! After seeing the photographs on the website, it will make people want to rush to one of their locations.
The Locations: HI, OR, CA
The location page includes the three locations in Kauai, Portland, and San Diego. Each location begins with a picture of the shave ice in those locations, then displays all the information, and ends with a google map of where the shops are located.
Contact Us
The contact page has an easy to fill out google form to put their name, email, and message so people are able to get in touch.
